Short circulation is air/gas free, thus stays cleaner and more stable (about half the amount of biocides and double the time between washing intervals has been experienced). Improved PM runnability and stability are achieved as a result of air being removed early in the process, not just before the headbox as is the case with conventional systems.
Sheet formation on the wire improves with improved drainage, and fiber bonding is more effective when entrained air is removed from process water (resulting strength increases can lead to refining energy savings).
Easy operation as well as fast start-ups and grade changes due to significantly smaller system volumes. The POM system eliminates the need for mixing and machine chests, stuffbox, as well as white water chests and pits. Grade changes are up to 6 times faster vs. a conventional short circulation.
Savings in fresh water, chemicals, material, and energy due to improved stability and cleanliness, as well as faster grade changes and start-ups. Paper machine efficiency increases as downtime decreases.
