Deflakers for all furnishes

AFT’s MaxFlaker series of deflakers has a conical deflaking geometry that uses a high-speed rotation and surface design to separate pulp flakes and fiber bundles from each other. Although an intense hydrodynamic action is created by a rotating ring-shaped deflaking surface, the action does not refine individual fibers and thus minimizes any fiber damage or fines generation.

MaxFlakers are designed to operate at 3-6% consistency and are often combined with AFT refiners for optimum pulp treatment. There are five sizes available that cover the processing needs of specialty paper lines to common paper grades.

The MaxFlaker Seven is a multi-stage high-speed unit that combines a conical hydrodynamic separation zone with a disc plate to provide the highest energy intensity for deflaking. It is best applied for the processing of highly sized wet strength pulp and other difficult recycled fiber furnishes.

Benefits

  • Energy efficient deflaking
  • Minimized fiber damage and fines generation
  • Increased strength potential for deflaked fibers
